Went to a fancy-schmancy Chanel store the other day. I asked about the J12 Superleggera, which has always been my favorite of the J12 line. Here's a pic for those too lazy to search:
Uptight-and-Smug-Store-Clerk-Dude told me something surprising. He said that of all the J12s, the Superleggera was the worst selling. Huge disappointment for Chanel. So they've discontinued the model above. The only Superleggera you can buy now is one with a rubber bracelet. Which, to me, defeats the purpose of buying a Superleggera in the first place (which is that oh-so-cool black and SS combo bracelet). And they may phase out the model completely in the near future.
And to answer the next question, no, there really isn't a good rep of the Superleggera out there. Josh and Andrew have some overpriced pieces of junk, but they are far, far removed from the gen. Sad, really.

I agree the Superleggera is a very classy looking Chanel. The regular J12 in black or white just does not appeal to me. That said, I am not at all surprised that it is their worst selling model. The people that would traditionally look for and buy a watch from Chanel would find the all ceramic or the watch from Seans collection the most appealing. Sorry Sean I could not resist the second dig.
