Some Heuer SLR 300 Mercedes Benz Gen v Rep pics PIC HEAVY

Hello,

Here are some Gen v Rep pics of the Mercedes Benz 300 SLR. I have worn the Rep for many months and the Gen is box fresh.

The glass is a bit more reflective but it is exaggerated when taking pics. I think it's a great rep - only other thing is the automatic winder can rattle on the rep, smooth on the gen.

Sorry the pics aren't the best - but hopefully someone finds them useful! Here are the two side by side. The Gen is on the RIGHT - in all pics the Gen will have the white cushion (if there is no cushion it's the Rep) - if they are side by side the Gen will be on the right.

rep $278 USD, gen $4000 USD - I can't tell the difference and they both tell the time very well! I'll keep the gen in the box for the time being.

Wow that's a good rep. Is the rep a tad thicker than the gen?

I tried to measure them this morning with a ruler - I took some pics for the ruler against the watch but the resolution isn't small enough to measure it. I don't have the right tools!

I've seen some folk use an electronic caliper and I expect I'd need that. I don't see a difference when holding them. I think the pic above might exaggerate any difference with the angle.

Fair enough thanks - as long as it isn't noticeable. Think my 41mm 1887 Carrera is supposed to be 1mm thicker than gen so I wondered how noticeable that is.

Lovely rep, might have to go on my wanted list this one.

Great thread, thank you for the photos! I own this rep and love it!
I can see very slight differences in the tachymetre ring (font size and position), SWISS MADE letterings, shape of small seconds hands, chrono pushers' edges, orange minutes tick markers and, more significantly, quality of the lume job. But I would never spot these differences at an arms distance!

Wow! Karma points to you my friend. I always try to figure out which is the gen prior to reading all the faults and mate you have an awesome rep right there. Only the AR was the giveaway - thicker case.... meh! I like em chunky
