So in an effort to save myself some money, I decided to fix my ailing 177L myself. (Backstory: the movement just stopped one day, so I bought a platinum lowbeat to replace it). Sourced a few tools and went to work. I've got the steps down pretty well, but the execution is throwing me off. I've got the watch opened up, the dial and hands swapped over to the new movement, and I'm trying to get the new movement back into the case. I'm having issues with the movement tabs that hold it in place...I got them in once but the movement still shifted around in the case. Questions:
1) Assuming the watch is laying facedown, do the movement tabs go in angled up, pointing towards the caseback ( like this _/ ) or angled down the other way, pointing towards the movement?
2) The stem seems "sunk in" too far...I'm assuming it's a result of the movement being able to slide around inside the case. So fixing the movement mounting should fix the stem spacing, correct?
any other misc. assembly tips you guys could give me would help immensely as well....I'm in over my head, but only slightly
