Solid gold Cariter Love Bracelet/Cuff Rep?

Does anybody know of a place to purchase a solid gold rep of a cartier love bracelet or love cuff? Most of the reps i've found are gold plated or steel

I used to get this question all the time.

Yes, you can commission a local jeweler to make you a solid gold rep of a Cartier Love bracelet. Having said that...

I've seen people come and go who claimed they knew this guy or that guy who made solid gold Love bracelet reps right here in America. I've never seen one and offered to buy one off a guy who isn't around anymore. I've also offered to buy one off one or two guys who said they could buy them from the Chinese rep factories - again, never had even one person take me up on the offer.

The question I always had was "Why would you want one?" I mean, I know everybody is going to say because of the weight. But who cares? Nobody on this planet will EVER ask another person to take off their Love bracelet and then whip out a digital scale and measure it. Never. It never happens and never will.

Your typical gen Love weighs around 32 grams. And the price of just the gold alone is around a thousand bucks. Then you add in the cost of having someone make a wax replica and then cast it and then engrave it and you're well over 2 grand now. Plus you've just committed a serious crime and so has your jeweler. Making just the bracelet itself without the engraving is a big no no. But who would pay a couple grand for a solid gold rep bracelet without the engraving??

Yes, the reps are ALL stainless steel and either yellow or rose gold toned - I've never tested one to see if it was actually gold plated and I seriously doubt they are. The silver ones are just plain polished stainless - no matter what you read on any site online. They are not plated with white gold and then rhodium plated, which is what one would see in your typical white gold piece of jewelry (although white gold jewelry is really white gold underneath and not stainless steel).

I wasn't trying to burst your bubble lol. I'm just telling it like it is. I have had more Loves pass through my hands than I even want to remember. There is a thread here comparing the 50 dollar and 90 dollar Love reps that you can find via the search function. I used to sell what would be considered the high end reps and they were extremely nice. But even those were all stainless steel and then what I would call "gold toned" since I never had one tested.

Any of the TDs can get you a very nice rep. Just keep in mind that you are buying a highly polished piece of jewelry - even the yellow and rose "gold" colored one - and they almost all come with a hairline scratch or two here and there. You breathe on these bracelets and they scratch. Not through the "plating" but they're not solid gold or 12 mil plated so just keep that in mind.

Can you post up some tagged pics of one? Especially one of the bracelet on a scale, because these would be the absolute best you can buy anywhere. Where are they being made? And what's the process for buying one?

Sorry I was on holidays and away from the computer. I dont sell this kind of stuff but I have lived in Beijing and have seen the different qualities and 18k ones. I own the genuine and I can tell you its scary close!

There is one guy in my country who does cartier rep a lot. He is the best as far as i know but i havent comprared any of his piece to a gen one so i cant really say how close did to gen one.
