I'm in the market for some new 26mm straps. MPSE is still the best I've found so far but given the cost I'd like to hear from others on some favorites if they have them.

Softest are not always the best, all depends on the watch, its weight and balance on the wrist.

Anyway, from my experience so far, I really like Xamlam straps, some great quality leathers, excellent work and great communication with the maker, prices are also not that crazy.

Thomas Leather is also excellent in regards to product quality and communication but a little more expensive.

Oleg is also very good, he has a lot of leathers and canvases to choose from, prices are afordable.

If you really only care about softness I think Mays's straps are, for me sometimes even too soft :) But he is very expensive.

If you're looking for something much cheaper then above mentioned sources and good quality still, then maybe you should try Dr.Phill

These are great thank you. I have a MP Olterra in 24 that I love, just not the price. This gives a lot me more to consider.

I also have an Olterra strap by MP, so I understand exactly what you are looking for regarding softness.

Rather than recommend a specific maker, I's suggest you focus on the leather / tannery. Horween Chromexcel is the closest I have to the Olterra - it's a very 'waxy' leather that almost melts on your wrist from body heat but not so much that it feels at all flimsy (like a Mays can).

That's a good point. Oddly enough I don't have any Horween straps. I do have a few Ashland Horween wallets that broke in very nice and will probably out live me. I'm going to order a few, I'll source one in Horween too to check out, thanks.
