I'm thinking about ordering a PAM (someone shoot me, I said I never would). Anyways all these damn numbers are killing me. If someone could just tell me which one's are the 47mm, then I could find one I liked. Everyone that I think I like (111) is 44mm. I also want a real good one, and I'm not the biggest fan on the "fiddy". Any help would be appreciated. Also is it better to order from someone like davidson, then someone like Joshua when it comes to a PAM? thanks!

I'm not a fiddy fan too.

But for 47mm, I will definitely go for Davidsen's PAM232. The tabacco brown dial is very nice and look class. Ask Davidsen for the brown strap with steel panerai logo engraved buckel as the gen comes with it. The only falw I see in DSN's PAM232 is that it has no production number engraved on the solid caseback.

A local AD told me before that Panerai prototype or sometime call the shadow series comes with the first batch of watch without the production number. The price is higher than those with production number because of its uniqueness. So, if you look at it htis way, hey... The PAM232 is a super rep which is very close to the gen.

My 2 cents :D

You need to narrow it down for us a bit, Sonny. Are you looking for a case like the Fiddy with the crown guard, or are you open to ANY 47mm PAM? If you want the CG, you're pretty well limited to the Fiddy, the 217 (looks like the Fiddy, but with the crown/CG on the other side of the case[Destro]) or one of the vintage watches like the 6152. *Most* of the 47mm models will have the gold/brass hands, so if that's what you DON'T like about the Fiddy, you might need to go with a fantasy model.

Give us some more details, my man...

Thanks so much for your responses, I guess I got my selections narrowed for me.lol. I 100% want one with the crown guard. So like i guess it's the fiddy or 217. I think I like the 217 better. Really the only reason that I'm not the biggest fan of the Fiddy is the "1950" on it. I like the style, but something about that "1950" just kills me. I guess if I did some research on what the "1950" meant, it would help me out.....I really was looking for one like the 063, I love the style of those, but i don't think they make a 47mm.

So based on this it looks like a fiddy or 217. Which one is more accurate the Fiddy or the 217?
Thanks again for the responses. I appreciate it.

DSN's "Ultimate Fiddy" might be the most accurate 47mm watch out there, but I'm sure there are other dealers that offer Fiddys that are nearly or as accurate as DSN's (I also don't know if DSN has anymore of his "Ultimate Fiddys" left, there was a waiting list at one point). I'd let a Fiddy expert like Babola or BigBadBrad answer whose is THE most accurate.

The "1950" on the dial is a reference to the original Panerai watch that the 127 was a tribute to. There were also only 1950 pieces of the 127 made, if you look at the serial number, it will be xxxx/1950. I'm sure Babola could shed some more light on the details of the 1950, but that's it in the broad strokes.

Does that help the "1950" printing on the dial sit any better with you?
