It is impossible to determine the lifespan of any watch. As posted in some of the other threads, you really should consider getting a rep that is not a chrono for your 1st. These watches are a lot better then you may think, but if you get a bad 7750 for your 1st you will be turned off forever.

Not using the chono may decrease the possibility that the movement wil fail, but you must understand the nature of the beast. The old version is bad mostly because if the lask of quality control. These movements are a copy of the ETA, which are typically thrown together with no lubrication.

The new version is supposed to be a better copy, but it is still a copy.

These are replica watches that are made in China; they are not genuine, and certain risks come with that.

If you're looking for a white face rep, that is a Breitling, and are nervous about the 7750, then why don't you go with a white faced seawolf avenger?

It's a great looking watch if you can find one in Ti.

By not using the chrono function on Asian 7750, there is a tendency the movement will last longer (less stress on the gear). However, as jburton pointed out, the watch and the movement are reps, there'll be risk involved that you'll get the movement dead after certain period of time and noone can guarantee it. However, I am pretty sure that it's worth taking the risk. I have purchased many Asian 7750 and none has failed me so far.

Buy it and use it how it should be used. Follow the simple guidelines of chrono operation and you will more than likely have no probs. I was nervous like you when I got my first 7750. Now it gets treated no differently than any other of my watches.

Many many people has had problems with their 7750 becasue they did not know the importance of working it correctly.. and there are many places where you can find instructions.. in fact, I do believe that in one of your other threads Takashi and others have given the instructions...

IMO

Klink is right. 1. GET INSTUCTIONS on learn how to use. I think El has is, Do a search.

2. Get the watch

3. Work Chronos for 1 hour.

4. Keep chronos turned off.

5. Once a month at run for very short period of time to keep it wet. Or if someone is playing with your watch :)

6. Hope for the best.

This has worked for me on all my 7750 never had any problems. So far its been 2 years.
The movmement is not that bad unless you are unlucky to get a defect or dirt.
