So another Xmas present... Easy guess

I seldom buy from members, esp modded pieces. Last was a WM9 sub which i still have. This was a Giant leap of faith since i've been saying forever that i have little love for Panerai.... Till now.

Easy guess for all the experts here.. Been reading up on this beauty (even my wife agrees!) and dealers have stocked out for a while.. So a day after i made up my mind to get one should i see it... This beauty was posted in the member sale.. C&R no less.

Yes yes i know the accordion strap is a dead give away, the engravings on the CG side as well... But hey indulge me.. It is Vac modded and Lumed after all..

Really? I've had a gen accordion fora while and when compared with the noob one from 243, even side by side I could have not told which one is which, expect that the noob one is may be 2mm shorter than Oem. Other than this, there are no tells.

I am also unsure as to what is wrong with the CG engravings, I've also compared them in real life with a gen and it is spot on.

Where I feel this rep is coming short is the lume and color differences, ever so slight, on hands vs dots vs numbers and the fact that numbers are not limed half as well as the rest of the watch.

Haha, I got,it now. I thought the way you phased it, that the strap and CG engravings are a "dead giveaway" of a replica....

Every morning I rummage around in my Panerai drawer for the rep-de-jour. As often as not my hand ends up reaching for my 243. Such a fabulous rep! After Del's photos, I'm thinking that perhaps a genuine Asso strap is necessary for it some time this year. Anyone have one you want to sell? Please PM me.
