Not a cartel case. It is the more expensive Phong case which has the correct stem height.

looks fake to me. Do agree with DVNE case is good, either phong or vietnam case. and an aftermarket rotor to boot.

The case doesn't looks that good to me. Yeah it has the right caseback but the crown guards are bad and the crown is wrong too. I doubt this is a phong. Maybe @Hugop can confirm. Weird dial as well. This has to be someone on RWI. My question is why sell on ebay? Possibly trying to rip people off? This is not worth $1800. Not even close.

Yeah, looks like Phong case and hands. The serial number is 1965 and that movement would not be correct. Hand set especially seconds hand is wrong.

I dont think its a phong case seems to be more like a Vietnam case I have. Phong work will normally be more accurate to the serial number used. The serial number on my case like this sets it to 1968 (623xxx) but the case is engraved as a 9411. The initial transition to the snowflake dial away from the 7928 was around 1968. The problem with this case is that the initial model number for a snowflake with date was 7021 not 9411. 9411 was later in 1975 so the serial number should be in the 830xxx and above range. This particular vietnam case set has been offered lately on the bay and requires that the builder pull together the parts to finish it. This looks like a hodgepodge of what he has been able to find.

Here are a few pics of the one I have used to house my gen 94010 triangle dial. It is a much more accurate case for a later style build IMO.

Appreciate the info. I think you're right about all that. Hopefully no one pays $1800 for that mess!

Just the dial that is. Unrefinished dials are bringing crazy money now. Not sure what a repaint would be worth. Hard to tell the quality from those pics.

May I ask what makes you guys think that this is sold by a RWI member?

Not very trust inviting for M2M and definitely, it seems only morons would buy luxury watches on the bay...

There are literally thousands of high value watches on Ebay at any given time of day... obviously selling like warm cookies.

What gives?

Back of beyond
But nowhere in the description does he say it's a replica. He carefully words his description so as to not mention it's a fake watch.

Looking at his sales feedback, there a couple of other sales that are descrbed as tudor homage builds. I remember a a couple of years back a member here pointed out a guy selling a few rolex frankens on ebay. Same kind of wording as this sale

When I said it had to be someone from RWI what I meant was there is a high likelihood based on the fact that it's a very niche hobby and this is the largest resource for such information (that I know of). Not a guarantee, but likely. That's all I meant by that.
