Snowflake build from a while ago

Did this a little while ago but forgot to post up the pictures.

Cartel 5512
Yuki dial / hands
Yuki pearl
Gen low beat 2846 (serviced)
Gen 703 crown / tube
JMB Caseback

Usual cosmetic work. Some interesting points about this build. The cartel 5512s seem to come without engravings now. No model or serial numbers between the lugs. The Clark T19 / Sternkreuz dome T19 both make the rehaut look really bad. The bevel service crystal from Sternkreuz is much better and can be re-shaped if needed for smooth edges.

I was pretty happy with how this one turned out. If I had to do it again I would have replaced the hour wheel and canon pinion with a higher set. I couldn't match the pearl lume with the dial lume with the powder that I had so I took a set of Phong hands that I had and removed the lume and ground it up for re-use. I've not found a proper way to re-create that orange colour with the stuff I have.

Yeah, unfortunately a flaw difficult to change. You can do some more serious work on the case to reduce how far out the crown sits, but the height you can do nothing about.

So did you ultimately keep the sternkreuz service crystal? I have a stock cartel case with a snowflake insert and the crystal magnifies like crazy. I like the dome look but it's a little annoying. Also, it scratches soooo easy.
