I have an SMP 300 chronometer with an electric blue dial. I switched the polished bezel with the white-gold bezel from the non-America's Cup model of the SMP 300.
Problem is: The white-gold bezel is a little less than a millimeter taller than the regular SMP 300 bezel, so the crystal is sunken in instead of flush with the bezel.
The obvious solution would be to buy the crystal that comes with the white-gold SMP 300, since it has just the right dimensions to go along with the taller bezel.
But I'm wondering if I couldn't use a 42mm PO crystal instead, which would have the added benefit of the double-AR coating (a personal favorite of mine).
People who tried to fit the 42mm PO crystal into regular SMP 300s reported that it was a perfect fit for the case/bezel, except that it was just under a millimeter too tall - which means that height-wise it should be a pretty good fit for the white-gold bezel.
So... do you guys think this will work, or am I off the mark here?
Thanks in advance.
