So here it is... my SM300 RN mod...

Before pic...

The Gen has a white second hand, so I painted the second hand white... and lugs on the gen are fixed so i put in shoulderless spring bars, to give it a virtual fixed bars look... still thinking though of soldering the bars to the case

The case seems to be so fat and chunky, so I slimmed the case a bit... so now the crown is more prominent... I also had some mil engraving done to the caseback, had the number of the watch to 112, in connection to my username...

Due the to the alterations, the watch incurred battle scars... hehehe maybe because of its service to the RN? lol...

I still want to give the watch a more distressed look... any tips and comments?

Thanks for looking...

VERY NICE!

Gave me some ideas for mine (missed the second hand thing- I'll be off doing that this week). Here's what I did to mine....

I was going more for an unrestored military look (actually looks like my 45.5 Planet Ocean that was in the sandbox for 3 years ).

Have you got any shots of the side of the case- I'm REALLY interested in seeing what ya did!

Where did you get the shoulderless spring bars?
And what did you do to "slim the case up a bit"?
Nice work BTW!

Actually I saw your post sfa, still trying to figure out how to take the luster of the metal like in yours... i hate it coz it's so shiny... will the post a pic of the side later...

The shoulderless springbars came with one of my watches, i think you can buy them from countycomm.com... To slim the case down a bit, I used needle files and sandpaper, it was really hard work, and the watch incurred a lot of scratches, luckily is fine by me since i'm going for the ugly/beaten look...

I used a grey scotchbrite pad to kill the shine. Dulls it down without major scratching the way green does.

Follow that up with a quick brush over with a Dremel circular wire wheel set on medium speed. Don't use the cup one- that'll shred the steel.

This watch is fantastic.

I think I'll buy one soon.

Tell me, the case is a PO case?

Thanks for the comments guys...
@maxlawbr- I have no idea if it is a PO case... They said that the case is from the speedmaster...

I'm definitely digging the RN SM. Any good sources for Tritium marked dials?
