Sites selling Panerai homages - Marina Militare (Parnis) - are they any good?

Hello,

I am new on this forum - please be nice with me.

I started collecting watches since several years - mostly Russians and Japanese. Recently I became interested by Chinese homages of Swiss brands. If I have to choose between a replica (with the original brand name on it) and a homage (by a different brand) I would always prefer the homage.

I found some nice Panerai homage watches on these sites - seem to be the same producer as for Parnis brand.

If you have experience with these sites can you comment on the quality of the watches and the service offered?

Regarding the watch I am particularly interested by 40mm Marina Militare Black Dial Power Reserve Automatic.

I am also interested in those sites. I have heard those sites are OK, maybe someone who has used them will post their experience. You should check out a homage forum which would probably have more info.

Parnis is a name that anyone may use, so don't put too much value in it.

I use and reccomend Getat (www.siswatch727.com). Tat is not the quickest as they are all made to order but has arguably better build ethic than the other popular guys.

The bonus is ou can have it customised just about anyway you like, including superlume

+1 to what MMA said - I've got a Tat. The quality is satisfactory, although you shouldn't be expecting it to be on par with gen (my cg lever on a PAM homage is floppy as heck), or even some of the more expensive reps like a DSN. Considering it is a homage and you are not trying to pass it off as some genuine watch with Swiss QC, etc.

The customisation more than makes up for it, as you can get a watch built to your preference and no one is gonna call you out for wearing an inaccurate rep!

That said, I believe Jackson and DSN also offers customisation services. I believe Manbushijie and Taji would, too.

I got one from tat a year ago and it is totally worth the money. I have 2 more on order and from what I hear the quality of the straps he ships them with has also improved a lot. The common complaint though is that the movements are pretty loud.

Oooh, I forgot....another + for TAT - he's got gunmetal coloured plates on his movements. Sweet. and as the previous post mentioned - his straps are pretty good - thick and supple.

Was going to recommend Getat but I see I was beaten to it. God watches, great value.
