hi all!

i would like to share some pictures of my third effort to achieve a more "gen-like" SINN U2...

the mods done are:

-improved ar-capsule
-relume with genuine superluminova lume on dial and hands
-bezel dot made of epoxy resin and genuine sl
-lubed all gaskets
-pressure test 10atm passed

fleed, one more thing I noticed between the gen and the rep is the finishing of the sand blasted steel, the gen is much more refined, I did a capecod on the case and got amazing gen like results, perhaps you can do it too??

Just a fine detail - The Ar mark on the dial has nothing to do with the capsule which actually contains copper sulphate.

From the Sinn website .....
The argon filled watch cavity and copper sulfate filled dehumidifier capsule prevent fogging by guarding against oxygen and moisture intrusion

i thought this when i first joined here and saw the Panerai, then it grew on me, but what is special about the Sinn? Looks like a watch I could get from K-Mart

Various Sinn watches contain technology or features not found in other watches, e.g. argon capsule, liquid silicone oil filling, submarine steel, tegiment technology, patented oil-free escapement. This is the main reason I would never buy a Sinn rep - they have none of these special features.

You must be looking at low quality pix then.
The watches in the flesh couldn't be mistaken for cheap Kmart pieces.
Search the forum for Sinn to see some great detailed photos of Sinn reps that members have picked up.

Sinn watches, besides having lots of cutting edge technology, have a style that's all their own and this appeals to many buyers.

The sandblasted steel case of the U series is an example of their individual style. Perhaps this looks like cheap plastic in a photo but on the wrist it's very impressive. The cunning way they fit a GMT hand that almost hides in the dial is another Sinn touch.

Check their website to see a lot more of their watches - I hope we see more Sinn reps in the future.

That's like saying I would never buy a rep DSSD because it won't go to 12800ft like the gen.
Rep owners usually buy their reps because they appreciate the design and features of the gen - not because they replicate even the unseen internal details.

Sinn is one of my favorites (especially the U2)!!!! Classic style, the gen has incredible technology, one of the best overall watches IMO. I'd buy the gen or rep in a heartbeat (the rep U2 will probably be one of my next purchases).
