So i finally got a 194. Heres my story.
Trevor had sourced one for me but informed me that the bezel didn't line up all that well. He went and got me another and said all the available 194s don't line up very good so he picked out the best one. I accepted after seeing the 2nd set of QC pictures cause i have wanted this watch for soooo damn long now and I can't see the "factory" retooling the CNC to make them bezel clicks perfect for me!
I knew what i was getting into with the flaws associated with this rep.....sloppy bezel, craptacular markers, He valve, but like i said i wanted this baby bad.
After locking down the bezel with floss the thing that drove me NUTZ was the shiny bezel paint, and here is where your tuto begins!
Here is a picture of a gen.....like i said this rep is far from perfect, but here is the upside.......I know a few Pam junkys.....Gen guys.....you know the type. Not ONE of them has seen this watch in person and only one of them even knew what it was.
Here is my rep. Right off the top you can see that shiny ring! Also the first 15 tick markers in this ring are not all the same.
Like i said before.....simple. Matte varnish, detail brush, steady hand and some patience.
Here is the result. this little mod has made a world of difference in the look of the watch and now the finish on the bezel is much more Gen like.
A few extra shots......The markers on this watch appear to be soldered on as opposed to glued as there are some "burn" marks on some of the joining surfaces.
Hot damn! I finally got a rep with an engraved rotor! this is a beautiful movement!
Wristy for my peeps. Little comparison if you thought the seawolf was big!
Thanks for reading!
