On pam rubber straps, are there two sizes /widths ? (I.e. one for tang buckle?) And what exactly is a tang buckle - is that term interchangeable w deployant? Because i know rubber straps come w either tradional pre-v clasp or deployant.

Also, Is there much difference in comfort/quality/antistatic properties between a rep rubber strap and a panatime dive strap ?

Thx for clarifying

Google is your friend, my friend.

They are completely different and require different straps.

No idea about the Panatime dive strap - but why would you even bother getting one? You can get a rep one of a very good quality from any TD for $35-45.

A tang buckle is something that has a "tongue" (hence the name) and a metal loop. It is different from a deployant clasp in terms of the locking mechanism. Straps made for deployants can be used for tang buckles, the opposite may not be true especially for thicker straps which cannot be inserted through the buckle of the deployant.

I am not sure about the differences between a rep rubber strap and a panatime dive strap as I have not owned the latter. Still the latest rubber straps are very comfortable and of good quality.

I was mostly curious if the deployant and tang/clasp straps were of different thicknesses, and if deployant straps could be used for tang buckles - the post above answered my question.

Deployments can't be used on straps meant for tang buckles, but tang buckles can be used on straps meant for deployment.
