Hi guys, I have really fallen for Graham watches recently but can not find a supplier of the styles I like. There are however some models that I think are ok but don't really want to part with a huge amount of cash for them as they are not my first choice.

Any recommendations as to the level of investment I should make in what would be a second choice or should I just try to find an alternative brand and watch that is available?

All advice welcome

The ones I really like are the Prodive and the Chronofighter Oversize Diver but as I'm extremely awkward there are only certain colour options I want.
As a backup I've been looking at the Silverstone Stowe series but no matter what I go with I'd quite like to have movements that mimic the gen

I owned the Overlord MkIII and really liked that watch. It was my wife's favorite watch I ever owned and got more "nice watch"s than any other I've owned too.

Here is mine on a Pam strap I had laying around.

The multi leveled dial was stunning BTW ;)

The Prodive has never been repped, and I doubt there will ever be a good one (see the thread in this section). The Silverstone has only been repped with cheap quartz and 21 jewel movements. Trust me, you don't want one.

However, there are two great "starter" Grahams out there.

First, consider the Classic ChronoFighter Oversize. Get the V1 and only the V1 (with the BLACK trigger). The V2 (with silver trigger) will scratch the back of your arm and drive you nuts, the V1 won't. It's basically a 1:1 rep and comes with black dial, silver dial, or panda. You should be able to get one for around $200. I strongly recommend Marvellous Replica, as he really knows this model.

The other option would be one of the "Ranger" models from Toro Bravo. They were on special for $138, but they appear to be up to $168 now - still a good deal. They are very similar to the Classic Oversize, but with a sightly different trigger mechanism and different dial color choices (yellow, blue, black/orange, or silver). The trigger is just as comfortable as the V1 Classic, but the AR is not quite as good.

You can't go wrong with either one. If one of these fits your wrist and is comfortable for you, then any of the ChronoDiver models will be just as comfortable. The dimensions and lug shapes are the same for all models.

Thanks guys. I figured there was a limited choice and as much as the Overlord you have is a lovely watch its just not my style. As for the Classic Chronofighter Oversize, I do like it but not completely sold and as its going to be a gift from my other half she has to approve it to and she is swaying towards an AP ROO.

If only I'd not tried on a gen Graham the other week and felt it be so comfortable

Just keep in mind that an AP ROO will be nearly 3 times the price of the Graham, and the seconds at 12 movement in all of them is a ticking time bomb.

Having looked around a bit more I am quite liking the options I have with the Classic , and I don't fancy shelling out over $500 and then having to blow another $300+ to have it sorted out.

Cheers guys

After a few more weeks of research and dilemma I think I have decided on one of the Ranger models from Toro Bravo. My only question now is how accurate are these watches and will they require much servicing and/or mods?

I'm also going to look into reviews of Toro to see how good the service is, I'm hoping this is the first of many new purchases ;)

Just received my QC pics from Toro and wondered what people thought. I am happy with them but always good to get other opinions and ask if there should be anything else to look for as this is my first quality rep bought through these methods.

Unless there is something your unsure about with the rep, ie flaws, then Qc pic should not be posted.

Apologies about the posting of the QC pics, was querying the type of pics rather than the quality of the watch.

All the pics were of the externals of the watch with no details of the movement or performance. Should I request this in an attempt to prevent problems with poor timekeeping etc.?

WHAT?

WHY NOT?

You should NEVER HESITATE to post QC pictures. The whole point of them is to catch problems with the watch before it's shipped out.

I would never even consider buying from a dealer had the nerve to tell me what I can and cannot do with pictures of my watch.

In general, this is a pro-dealer policy and IMO a bad one.

Yet I can see the point about noobs cluttering the forum with such posts.

So it is ok to post your qc pics with a specific question. Or send via pm to a member who knows the rep well. Or post them on anothet rep forum.

How about a separate section just for qc photos?

I'm more than happy to help anyone out with Qc pics if they have a concern that I can answer, but just posting Qc pics and asking " what ya think" is just kinda plain lazy and not the real concept of what they are for.

I doubt a separate section will happen, other forums allow it yes.

Well after all the fuss, and I was happy with the QC pics, my watch arrived after 5 days. Work got in the way of me looking and playing too quickly but I've had it on this weekend and its amazing. Its really comfortable and keeps great time. Had plenty of comments about its size and style too, mostly complimentary.

Pics will be posted once I have time and I must say Toro was superb throughout the choosing and buying process.
