no idea how close you can get with a rep? but if there's no close to gen, rep, then I'd say it's worth it. I mean if this is what rocks your boat

U-boat are crap for 3k so it will be a no for me too. By that I want to say that you will only be paying their marketing and nothing worth that much money

Can you pls elaborate on the crap part? Eta 7750, 316L steel, calfskin band and nice clasp. No different than many other big brands, TAG included.

Why would they be crap, and which brands are not crap in your opinion? Just curious since I dont know much about U-boat but think they are interesting.

I am just saying that these watches are not worth 3k that's all, I am not talking about the steel used but a 2824 movement for 1000€ or a basic Unitas one for 2700€ plus the finish on their watches is not far from most mid-high end reps. Plus if he is buying it and one day wants to sell it he will loose A LOT! And most are 50mm, you need to pull that off too
Take a look at the brand called Welder, same designer but selling for 500-600€. Or Poljot
The difference between the USA and Europe concerning Uboat is that in the US they are sold in places where you find all the other luxury watches but in Europe they are found in common stores, the brand image is not the same... But after all Stalone and Brad Pitt are wearing them so it must not be only marketing (hum hum).
I will conclude by saying that it's not my taste and that any Uboat owner will loose a lot when he wants to sell it.

Yep I think that if you really like this watch you should get it but not for the retail price
