Hi, has anyone some experience with shipping a rep to Germany? I am little worried about the customs here

So far it's been fine for me. Lots of Ali Express, some DHgate and so far 2 reps. 3 more are on the way. *klopf auf Holz*

You need to be more specific with your question. Orders from the TDs are problem-free, since they do not go through German customs. You should be careful with M2M purchases from non-EU countries. Here something can be intercepted by customs.

I mean for TDs, as the TD I am writing with says that if the rep is seized by customs, he will send another package but if the second one is seized as well there will be no refund..

You should ask the TD if his shipping agent uses IOSS or simple triangle. In the latter case choose another TD. The chinese shipping agents are very professional and you pay lots of money for the shipping. There is no need to take risiks.

Two reps seized by customs consequentially would be an extraordinary streak of bad luck. There's heaps of German members here who've done business with TDs for years without a problem. Don't overthink it.

And make sure you're talking with a real TD (by following RWI's links)

I have to knock on wood for their shipping methods but it usually comes to EU countries via either NL or HU hubs, where they are customs cleared, which is generally supposed to mean that the (bulk) duties have been already paid for by the shipper. Every blue moon local customs offices will do a blind customs check of the complete days intra-EU shipment contingent but I never heard it happen recently.

I live in Germany. Generally speaking, you don't have to worry about it, as TDs will do triangle shipping and import EU in Belgium or Netherlands so it will be fine. But please bear in mind that once in a while, like 1 out of 100 times, your purchase might end up in Zollamt due to a crackdown or whatever problem. This is my experience for the last 10 years being an Importer of Record here.

And since IOSS, the customs risk has decreased once again. As strange as it sounds, the bigger problem today is that DHL loses the package. And that is not unproblematic, because the shipping agents do not declare the correct value and therefore no insurance applies. Then the TD has to step in. Either he has insured the shipment with his shipping agent or he has to bear the loss from his reserves. But of course this all happens rather rarely ... but it does happen.

Oh, the great DHL and/or Deutsche Post. Took them 13 days to send a Warenpost from Hamburg to Munich...

On average, 2-3 out of 10 DHL parcels ended up lost.

2-3 out of 10 are 20% to 30%!
I can not believe that, do you have a source for your claim?
