Looking to purchase m2m from a guy in Australia. I’m in EU so I am scared of customs.

Anyone any experience? Tips on courier choice and packaging?

Should be fine to send it with the default choice (national postal service). Avoid express parcel like DHL, FedEx, UPS etc.

Ems /Australia post. Mark as a watch being sent for repair with a low value as it's "broken " , put a note inside describing a non existent intermittent issue. Never had one stopped like this. Since it's being sent for repair and return customs typically won't bother looking beyond that.

PS: What seems to work best to get past customs is to declare the shipment as "watch parts", "watch for repair" or something similar and don't under value it too much. $5 or £5 attracts unnecessary attention. Better to declare a value like $50 and pay a few $ in taxes and duties...

Thank you all! Fingers crossed☺️

Remember you're probably looking at 2 weeks of transit time and customs. Just so you don't get worried about the extended shipping to be expected.

First of all cover the dial with a sticker, and on that sticker put a word with random stock numbers.

That might be a bit overboard.... If they've gone far enough to open and unwrap it I would think they would remove the sticker from the crystal enough to see what's underneath. I don't expect it to come to this and I've never even had a package opened with all the ones I've shipped both inbound and outbound international

you print a random barcode or qr code on a white sticker and put it in tbe crystal

the customs officer opens the box, gives a quick glance, does not see an obvious logo

I would cover the dial, of course they can remove the sticker, but it is more difficult. The scan would show a watch case and a strap, they could also open the lid, see if it is VSF, CLEAN... (joke).
