Hi everyone.

I have this situation, where I received QC pictures of my watch, were everything looks good except for that the dial is slightly shifted to the west. This means the date is too much to the right, and the minute track touches the rehaut/case on the left side of the watch, but not the right. It is a BP 16710 with VR3186 movement.

Is this an easy fix, do you know? The adjustment needed is very very slight. I am not sure how the dial is held in place to the movement, but I would expect the shift needed to be 1/4 of a mm or something like that. It is very slight, but it still bugs me a bit that the date is uncentered, and that the minute track looks uneven. I would like to fix this if possible. See picture:

Thanks a lot for your insights.

Strategy 1

I think you can take the dial out and bend both dial feet slightly to the left or right. Doing so helps with repositioning the dial, and do it by trial and error (don't bend the feet too much because you run the risk of snapping them).

Strategy 2 (easier)

Loosen the movement tab screws, use a screwdriver to try pushing the movement towards your desired position, and tighten the movement tab screws. This only works if there is some space left for the movement to move.

Also, you can experiment by cutting your own movement tabs (to better lengths/ shapes) to further refine the positioning of the dial and movement.

My BP16710 is exactly the same. The dial is centered in the case but the date if off center. it's probably the date window in the dial is 0.5mm too close to the center of the dial. You can't move the dial on the movement much of the canon pinions and or hands will rub on the edge of the center hole. I'll see if there's a solution when I take it apart.

its funny I just got my QC today and it's got a different dial than Yours And different hands. Mine is also the VR3186

The watch looks way better in person and i am not so bothered by this actually - the QC photos made it seem way worse.

Thanks for your insights @pompompurin . I might send this watch on a full service - and when I do, I will mention that I'd like them to center the dial to the best degree possible in accordance with your recommendations.
