Setting PAM GMT hand...got it!

I received my DSN 089 and love it. I could have swore that the GMT was independently set by turning the crown counterclockwise in the date set position. I did that but nothing happens. I tried it in the winding position, nothing. Did it in the the time set, and well the hands just went backwards.

Tried to search out an answer but only got this:

...which is a good refresher on GMT's, but not necessarily helpful in my case. Did I get a problematic 089? The rotor is a little loud, but I didn't think much of it.

Oops, sorry! It's working great...jumps in hour increments, just like it's supposed to. I don't think I had the crown pulled out correctly.

Yup getting the right position can be tricky some times , it helps if you put the watch by your ear when pulling out on the crown, as you can sometimes hear it when the crown reaches that first setting position.
