Hi, new to the forum so pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong section . I've got a noob pam111v4 on the way from a TD and was just wondering if these watches usually come from the factory with lubricated movements. I'm a little concerned with the long-term usage of the watch without lubrication of the movement and was thinking of having it serviced upon arrival. Does it seem like a good idea?

They are usually good from the factory, but not waterproof out of the box, for that you need to send to a modder or watchsmith. The crystal gasket tends to leak on them.

You should be good for awhile. Especially the hand wound movements seem to hold up well. I'd just enjoy it for awhile and see how it does. As teddy said above its definitely not water "proof" so don't wear in the shower or go swimming with it until you get it seen by a modder or watch smith. That's my take on it...

Well the closest my pam will be to water is when washing my hands so I think it'll be fine. Good to hear about the movement though, I had a parnis with what I think was a seagull 3600 movement that died after 6 months of daily usage. Hoping this one lasts a little longer

No point having it serviced IMO.
A brand new movement is likely to be cheaper than a full service so I would say use it till the movement breaks. At that point just swap a new movement in or buy another watch.
