Self/Less Movie Panerai

So I just finished watching Self/Less with Ryan Reynolds. His watch is featured HEAVILY in the movie like its almost a Panerai ad. However, in the movie it features a digital alarm coming from his watch. And he 'touches' the watch crown to disable the alarm and it annoyed me the whole way through (first pic he is turning the alarm off)

It looks like a Luminor Pam. I'm sure many of you PAM fanatics can identify this one.

I can't see how the digital alarm would be featured it so why use this particular watch so heavily in the movie?

Good movie though and good Panerai marketing.

I did not know about the alarm, maybe it's only an effect for the movie, but that feature does not sound good for a watch like that.
BTW it's a Pam 312.

Thanks for the info. Yes, he makes out like his watch has an alarm for the whole movie.

312 - 351? They all look the same anyway. I think they can change a case back and they'll call it a new model. That's what I really dislike about pams.

Same thing happens in the Transporter movies. In the first movie, Jason Statham has an alarm on his Panerai (daylight chrono if i am not mistaken). Just a but of hollywood gimmicks

Well I mean they do give them different reference numbers 16610lv,16610,16614 etc etc but it's still called a submariner. I guess Pam is the same way. It's a panerai luminor or radiomir or submersible but with different numbers to differentiate the dials and cases so it's similar

There actually is a panerai with an alarm function. I don't know what model because as stated above there are just too many to track

There are a few - PAM046, PAM098, PAM355 Radiomir Alarm watch - but that was definitely not the same watch in either movie. I do not believe there are any luminor alarm versions

Weirdly, I watched San Andreas tonight and Dwayne Johnson is rocking a Panerai Submersible (PAM 305).

Panerai are locking up the Hollywood watch product placement.
