watch out for rattling bezel and sunken datewheel (usual asian 7750 with 3-6-9 layout problem). I have seen pusher coming off too, so you need to watch out for that. usual problems with bezel marks falling off also exists. The lume can be better but reluming is optional.

AR coating on the crystal is a great addition.

There are many, many people that have been looking for a Honpo 187 for much, much longer than a few days my friend.

They are out of production, so the FS fora are your only real shot at picking one up. Good luck!

No, not the dealers. I'm talking about 2nd hand watches from private sellers. I can virtually guarantee that no dealers will be able to source one of these watches.

yeah i have a 187 and it is one of my favorites. I had the crystal double AR coated and it is a must have addition. I did loose a bezel marker and for the life of me can not find another to fix it with lol.

Looks like the one i have but you should send it off for a lume job and for sure the double AR coating. The AR totally changed the look of that watch since the crystal is so thick.

i would not be willing to spend the money for a Honpo.

buy a 187, dont invest to much for upgrades ( imo)

dont use the stop functions - and just enjoy the watch as is.

thats what i did with mine for 3 years, it ran great, no problems.

I think this is a huge and heavy watch.
+ It's a good looking watch
+ huge and big for big watch lovers
+ solid case build
+ solid build for the numeral on the bezel
+ firm clicks on the bezel
+ thick crown
+ firm crown guard lever
+ numeral on the bezel looks good

- sunken datewheel
- pearl doesnt look too good
- AR is not too good
- Lume is standart rep
- Lume color is a bit greenish
- CG pin not flush - but should be an easy fix

? what's the color of the lume on the gen? i saw one a bit yellowish, and some a bit greenish.

@lan61, the gen daylight color should be a little greenish yellow, saw one at the AD and saw parryl's watch personally... damn it is so poisonous..

@parryl : thanks for your kind word, it's a bit hard to take the photos of the dial, because of the AR
i believe the later pics are gen right? i notice the "1000" is also bolder on the gen.

added more minus after looking at the gen images from parryl
- the "1000" is thinner than the gen
- Swiss Made is not in the right position
- The Hour marker rings is too thick
- The number "2" is a bit off

@alvi : thanks for the info, the color of the that my bro has is a bit greenish than yellowish.
i think it's a great if you can do all the mods to fix the flaws :)
