I have a VSF Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean that I bought from Puretime a few years ago, it is a great watch however the thread that screws the crown in has stripped and it won't stay in anymore.

Does anyone know if there is an Oseal in there to keep it watertight even with the crown unscrewed?

Or will I need to keep this watch dry?

Keep her dry, I think these are know to strip often. I'm not sure what you could for a fix. Are the Male threads or female threads damaged?

Uncertain on that, but shortening the stem enough to cause the crown to sit flush against the case might be a step in the right direction as the o-ring at the end of the stem would be flush against the tube. I do that to all my watches with stripped crowns and have not had an issue. I also do not swim with them etc.

Very common problem with Omega reps. I have had to change crown tubes on 3 or 4 of mine. Go gen or generic swiss made from fleabay....
