I am fond of the Seamaster 300m chrono, but I have a very large wrist - 8.5". Now some smaller watches do ok, such as the GMT IIc (the bezel makes it appear larger than it is) and some just look small.

I was hoping some of you out there that have large wrists and have either owned or still do own a SMP chrono could give me your input on whether it will look too dainty on my massive gorilla arms.

Thanks

Nah nah - I need to know the troof. Saves me a flip later on.

I do need some color in my collection though - I have a ton of black and a little white.

Unfortunately the watch is in parts as i am building a franken and i can show you a wrist shot.

But if you wearing the gmt and you like it, i dont think there will be much of difference with the smp...

edit: i dont know if that helps but i just found this, lets say size comparison

The SMP chrono diameter is 41.5mm.

I'll throw the gen strap on mine (i've got it on mesh right now) and take photos for you shortly. I have a 6.75" wrist...

The SMP Chrono is bigger than the GMT IIc, moreover it sits higher on the wrist, if you feel comfortable with the size of the Rolex, the Omega will fit you fine.

I have a 39mm dia. Rolex 6538 and a 40mm dia. SMP 300m Bond in my box right now if you wanna see comparison shots. The only two watches I have (personally) ever worn (and felt larger) were the 45.5 dia. PO (width wise) and the Deep Sea (thickness wise). The Deep Sea was only a 39mm dia. (I think), but a massive 17mm thick case...

I had an SMP that VAC modded for me and I loved it. Its good hefty watch but all depends on what you are used to. From the SMP I jumped to a 44mm PAM and now to the 48mm SA. And after 1 week its feels perfect on my 6.5 wrist. If you havent already give the blue SA a chance if thats the color variation you are looking for. I think it will be great on an 8.5 wrist. There is even a seller on rg getting rid of a beautiful franken.

Thanks Om3ga. The only thing that could help more is someone with some wookie-sized forearms doing the same thing. I guess Ill see what kind of price I can get and decide from there.

Thanks for the effort.

I have an SA too and it fits great. The blue color on the Breits just never seems to pop like Omega SMPs. Had a Tag Aquaracer in blue and it was just too dark to me.

I have a 7.5 inch wrist, and it looked fine, but I like larger watches, 45mm to 49mm is more to my liking. I think it might feel too small for you.

If color is what you want, get a sunray blue Orient Mako XL.
@45mm and a very solid dive watch with a gorgeous blue dial and a smooth and very accurate automatic movement. And if you hunt for a discount code, you can usually buy one shipped CONUS for under $150!
But it won't have chronos or a horseshoe emblem.

think you should go with the 45mm upo or the ploprof personally the only omegas that suit me i have 7 /2 - 3/4 wrist. IMO of course the 300 is too small for your wrists.
