Scratched my PAM

So I was taking off my seat belt today and it came flying back and hit my PAM112 case and left a nice little scratch. I try to baby this watch as much as I can and keep it looking like new. Is there anything I can do to take the scratch out? It's not a huge scratch but when the light hits it I definitely notice it.

That's why I have a 177 as a beater and save the 000 for dinners and nights out with the Mrs. ;)

It's a very little scratch, easy removable with a bit of polish ;)

I called a certified watchmaker and they said they could buff it out and make the whole case look like new for $75. Might be worth taking it to him.

Congratulations!
You just wrote the very first sentence in the book called "Patina - the history of my watch"

scratches and dings give the watch some character. It looks small enough, so personally i would leave it alone for the time being. And later down the road when you accumulate much more scratches then you give it a complete polish. If you want to try and mask it for now i would give it a good polish with some cape cod clothe.

I like the look of vintage PAMS but this one is less than a year old.

this thread might give you some option about the scratch ... looks deep to me ... would need to remove a fair bit of base material to remove it ..

I agree, that does look pretty deep. Consider doing a light polish to make it less apparent, but totally removing it will require taking off quite a bit of metal.

Dude, not worth the worry, it's character be proud of it.
If you have a dremel, metal polish, and Cape Cod cloth you can do the work yourself.
Scratches, nicks and dings create an interesting watch, my point illustrated:

I would have to agree with everyone who says leave it alone. If it is bothering you, then what you can do is tape off the area, use high grade sand paper to sand it down and then a cape cod clothe to polish it down. I would wait until you have a few scratches before doing this bc you may warp the shape of your watch with every little scratch you try to fix.

Better to pop the bezel off and rework the area, but overall I agree it's a rep they're meant to be abused. I have some great photos of really used gens, the hell have been beaten out of them and that's the cool part.
Post shortly.

If anyone is popping the top off and reworking it, it'll be the watchmaker I contacted. Turns out he's the only certified watchmaker in the area and comes from a family of watchmakers.
