My PAM 111h got her today from Davidsen, awesome, but more on that later.

The top band screw was very stubborn to remove. My screwdriver head slipped out of it a couple of times and managed to put a nice little scratch on the lug above the crown.

It's one that I can feel with my fingernail. What product is out there I can use to polish this small piece back to it's original shine.

Should I take it to a shop and have them buff it out? They've done that with a friend's gen Yachtmaster before. He put a nasty ding on it and they buffed it right out. I suppose a non-PAM shop wouldn't have a problem helping me out.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about, kind of hard to catch it with the camera.

If it's on the bottom side...I say, leave it on there. I put a few scratches on my Fiddy the first day.

When I had a Fiddy a while back, my one buddy who wears a gen PAM saw it and loved it. He was ranting to his wife how rare of a watch it was and I was lucky to be able to find it. He never asked if it was a rep, so I didn't give it up.

He politely asked how much I got it for...and I said, "I got it *MUCH* cheaper than retail because it has these scratches...see." He called me lucky. hahaha...

Just an idea...

It's not really on the bottom, but on the lug, right above the screw head. I notice it more than anything.

I went to walmart today to see if they had anything in the jewlery section for polishing, not a chance though.

Cape Cod will be able to take care of that scratch for you.

Where do you get the Cape Cod? I'd like to pick it up instead of ordering it. I have no idea even where to begin looking?

Home Depot? Bed, Bath, and Beyond?

And what cape-cod won't take out...

Jewelers Rouge and a Dremel with a polishing wheel will... make certain you know what your doing with this item though... can cause more problems than it solves if your not careful.

i dont think a cape cod will go that deep... use a rouge wheel and a green bar. polish lightly and it will dissapear quickly. finish up wit the cape cod.

Good tip .. damn, I need one of those dremels - they're virtually cultish to its devotees.

I had the same problem, I believe, too much beer when I had the screwdriver in my hand. Changed the strap and the screw was stuck, did not go forward and backward...used a finger nail clipping tool but the screw did not move. At that time I was so pissed...lots of scratches in...I had one more beer, brought the watch to my watchmaker ( he works on reps) , paid 15 USD and he removed all scratches and fixed the problem.
After I used the nailclipper to get the stupied screw out, the screw was gone :), my watchmaker used a tiny saw and built a new screw...... lol...true story
