Well I now have a PAM 061d, I'll post some pictures later !

It is very nicely finished, I am not mad on the strap so will probably 'oil' or change, really pleased overall. The only question I have is regarding PAM's and the front glass.

As I look at the watch when I am wearing it at an angle the face is distorted and not easily read. I am used to the glass on my IWC which can be read at any angle where you can see the figures as it doesn't distort at all. You can read figures on my IWC as if the glass was not there. Plus it is more reflective than my IWC.

Is this normal for PAM's, PAM reps or my rep ?

Bummer.....

Here's a video of a gen with correct glass (ignore date bubble)

This for me is a deal breaker unless I can get the glass changed it is a very, very obvious copy

Good spot. Thanks
Noob crystals less distort than H, but H have better AR.
A good crystal without distortion in the C33

I am going to try on a genuine Pan this week, I am really surprised this has not been highlighted it's a very obvious flaw in my opinion. 100x more obvious than the crown. I can see this on my wrist when I look at my watch and as the light catches the watch it look like the bottom of a glass. This for me shouts copy, does anyone know if people put a gen glass on or there are accurate glass reps. This is very fundamental in my opinion. the case is stunning the dial looks great and glass is dreadful. It's also far less good at dealing with reflections, the pictures are kind in comparison of a gen IWC and this rep

I've seen gen PAM61 (and more importantly non-sales related) photos with visible reflection and distortion.

I will try and have a look at a few PAM's tomorrow.

I wonder if I could change the glass to factory from say a 177 ? I really don't like the look with the glass supplied. If I was in the market for a gen this would take it off my list.

Anyone know of a rep that doesn't distort and has comparable anti relective of later models ? It's difficult to show in the pictures, but really seeingf the dial is no where near as good as looking at the dial on my IWC.

There is a big difference: thickness. The Pam crystals are tick 3,5mm to the centre and 2,5mm to the edges. As I wrote Noob crystal distort less than H. Another choice is the C33, but I dont know if it's on sale with AR or without

I was hit with the same issue a few weeks back when i first picked up a liminor

Didnt have this issue with a rad or a mini fiddy

Simply put, my research did show gens with distortion and quoting a fellow member

Crystal this thick without distortion is like vodka with no alcohol

I am starting to feel a bit better about the look, I will try a few gens on tomorrow and see how they look, I am not sure how much a gen dial would be and if it would fit into a rep case ?

Thank for all the help so far

Think what's referred to is the corundum c3 crystal, originally made by Bigmatt to oem specs

Changing to a gen dial will not solve your concerns with the AR and the distortion, which has been explained, also exist in the gen, although it will definitely be an improvement. Not particularly sure about fitment of gen dial to rep case as I have not tried it. But there have been very good frankens done with other Luminor models using gen dials so it is entirely possible.

Regarding gen dial pricing, gen dials outside of OP are very hard to find, so they will be priced accordingly. It will most likely cost more than a super rep PAM.

Okay guys, here we go

061d rep, 177 gen

The glass was a little less reflective with a little more 'sparkle' and clarity, with a little less distortion. But very similar I am pleased to say.
