Ok, so I was the owner of a beautiful gen RXW mm20 since last year. I found this forum, and after reading extensively and looking at some of the great pics, I decided that maybe I wanted to get into the game. Ok. So, it's not like I can spend a ton of money on watches, and it seems everyone is pretty happy with their reps for the most part, so I decide to give it a go. As long as I don't abuse the watch (I never do) and get it serviced occasionaly, the reps should last as long as the gen.? So first I get a IWC FA Jones from river for just over $100. I get it, love it, no problems. I think, Hey, I'll get a 127 to replace my mm20, sell the mm20 to fund other reps. and stick to a manageable number of watches. Get a fully modded fiddy from fellow member LTZ on a tootal baseball strap. Get the watch and its nice; not perfect- a couple of big tells, but otherwise pretty good. (It was the strap that put me over the edge, TT .) What really blew me away after getting to look and feel both the fiddy and mm20 side by side, was the quality of the sapphire crystal. The mm20's seems to be waaaaaaaaaaaay thicker, and have much better AR coating (see pics below). Well, long story short: I think I can live with the trade offs, and now have 4 reps to add to my collection of gens. Thanks everyone for bringing me to the dark side. My wallet thanks you too!
