I heard that the quickswich and smartlink systems fail overtime with any high quality rep. Can anyone talk about their Santos, and how it's holding up so far?

If you don't mess with the quick switch and smart links system too much, they should be fine. How often can you be using them?

I got mine GF since February. The bracelet still feels really solid. I play with the quicklink often (just press the button) and nothing is wrong so far.

I've had my GF for about 6 months, and it's my daily wear, the bracelet is as solid and smooth as the day I got it. Mind you I haven't really worn it on the leather strap, because with a bracelet this good why would you?

Since you have all three, can I get your opinion on the BVF & KOR and how they compare to the GF as I'm interested in getting a two tone.

Cheers

Have had the 35mm GF for about 9 months now, and the bracelet, quickswitch, and smartlink systems have been superb. I switch out the leather strap to the bracelet every so often (once a week) and haven't had any major issues.

Maybe the only point I'd add is if you get a Gen leather strap like I did, it's quite difficult to take out.

I have a gen blue dial, GF bracelet is as comfortable as that one. The only problem with GF is the size of the damn crystal edge is too great and of course, the date window which I think all the ones I have at home are not quite the same as gen. But GF is so good in the other things that I only use the GF, and the GEN is one the watchbox
I have the v6f full head rose gold (with gold markings in the bezel, that one is on a GEN blue strap). The rose gold is different from GEN from what I remember at the AD but still a beauty. I will get the KOR two-tone next also in rose gold.
bvf two-tone is nice also but the dial is not as good as GF (no GF two-tone I belief)
I have a new 3kf full rose gold with bracelet. The bracelet is not as good as GF and the proportion of the window and markings of the dial are not as good as..you know it =) the GF. The cabochon is not good in the 3kf, very different than GEN.
Bracelet of KOR and bvf are good but I remember that bvf watch head did not take the GF bracelet correctly and it would fall off easily (for some reason I liked the shinier bvf dial) but wanted the comfort of the GF bracelet

Now there are so many different versions that I myself get confused.

Cheers for the comprehensive answer. You've actually confirmed my suspicions that the GF is undisputedly the best option, and saved me a lot of money. However as you've pointed out they don't make a two tone.

So I guess that leaves 2 options. The first being just wait and see and hope GF makes a two-year tone. The second being, which I'm seriously considering is buying another GF SS and sending it to Tommy to see if he can apply rose gold plating to the bezel and screws.

My only concern is how reliable and long lasting are these reps? The plating won't be cheap, so it's worth it if the watch holds up for a few years. As I'm pretty new to the hobby so don't have enough experience to be able to comment on this. So any feedback on the longevity of these reps would be appreciated.

Cheers

If you get into trouble the only thing you would need to switch would be the movement, so yeah, plating it would be a pretty sure bet.
