On several occasions, some members show interest in watches I have for sale, negotiate the price, agree to the conditions, ask paypal account, tell will pay quickly and then fail without tell a word.

I think it is not polite or civilized among members of the forum, it would be enough giving an explanation or had lost interest.

Sorry for my poor english.

I agree and it annoys me too. I have yet to make a sale here but have made many next door. I will happily hold a watch for a short while but it frustrates me when people do as you say. Agree on a price and then no payment. Why waste the time.

Now I only hold them for an hour. Then open it back up. If you wanted it you'd pay. When I make a deal with someone I ensure I pay straight away. If I can't due to tie differences I make sure that I mention this to the seller and tell them I will be at such and such a time when i have had a sleep or whatever.

Things like this will always happen, nothing much can be done. What i do is when i have agree on a sales and already given out my pp account but after few hours still no payment receive, i will send the buyer a pm saying that he have 24 hours from the time i send out my pp account to make his payment.

After 24 hours, no payment receive and item will be back on sales.

Unfortunatley it's is nature of this beast. 60,000 members, many with no real attachement to this community. This is why you see many well written disclaimers included in members sales threads today. Some people just don't have a clue how to conduct themselves here. Sad but true.

Thanks for posting your frustration....this is what is all about.

Not frustated, i like the forum, and there is many good people, just want to express my disagreement with that kind of conduct.

It's inevitable that it will happen unfortunately. When it does it's important to mention it in a review/rating. This is one of the reasons we built the sales rating system here, use it so others are aware of such issues with members.

It's not just this,,,, there's plenty of things that go on that's simply not appropriate! When members don't list items as they should and a whole onslaught of problems surrounding member sales,,,,, this is a hobby for some of us and a business venture for others and even more are just simply hit and run buyers that couldn't give a rats ass about any of us,,,,,unfortunately it is as Rob says,,,, is what it is.... but the hobbyist here should aggressively weed out unscrupulous members that are only here to make a quick buck by doing as TB says and exposing them through the rating system,,,,the hit and run buyers are a far more complicated issue when things don't meet up to their ridiculous expectations(sometimes).....anyway you gotta love it or go gen, Timex, or watchless.....

It's one of the things that really pisses me off. They make an offer, you accept it and then they go silent. 2 days later , the same jackhole will come back saying " where do I send payment ". Some even have the nerver to ask why you sold it. Sadly, there isn't much you can do except ignore it.

Oh my friend, you have no idea. The styories I could tell you. I prefer to call them asshats. You get to the point that sometimes, you only post the sale in VIP, to avoid the tire kickers.

Par for the course. Lets face it we are the second hand market for the rep watch market. No different than a free market environment for lost treasures.

Some of the buyers will give u an offer, once u accept it, they will say they got no time to meet u now, soonest they can meet up is one or two weeks later. Some even say they have a plane to catch. Very busy now blablabla... And yet they expect u to keep the watch for another two weeks.

There are a lot of things that have pissed me off with buying and selling. The RWI Sales review system is fine, but it's flawed just like eBay etc. Everyone is afraid of being honest with their frustrations for fear of getting retaliation feedback. There are also people that I have gone above and beyond for as both a buyer and a seller, and then I receive no feedback at all.

I'd love to be able to see a 95% and under review rating on most users here instead of 100% across the board. That way, we'd hear much more of these stories. Instead, everyone is afraid of losing their 100% rating.

Back to the thread topic though, it really is the noobs and other users that have no forum involvement that are the worst buyers. I had one noob string me along for over a week with excuses and weird requests until he finally sent payment, and I swore I'd never sell to him again. A few months later, he became a very involved and contributing member that I would probably give a second chance to.

No you are wrong Raji the system isn't flawed at all, the users are and there's nowt we can do about that. We can give you the tools but if folk won't use 'em as intended what can we do?

I do agree with your evaluation however, spot on as usual.

Well if they expect you to hold it for 2 weeks, ask for a deposit. I'd offer a deposit if I want a seller to hold it for a period of time.

I completely understand your frustration. It happens to me as a software consultant all the time. I can put as many as 10-15 hours into getting a proposal together for a company with technical specifications, licensing costs, etc. Then deliver the documents, and not hear a word after that. That's why I try to not do it to others.
