Rolex with a crooked tube/crown

I have this MILGAUSS (yes, still the same watch) with the crown sitting a bit weird, and a little bit difficult to screw back. Most people don't see it but I do and it bugs me.
Is it something that can be fixed?

Can you post some pictures? Most likely you're going to be looking at having the stem reseated in the midcase. It could be cross-threaded or the actual hole that it's in is drilled is on an angle. No way to know until you have a watchsmith look look at it.

What exactly do you mean by crooked? Are you saying the coronet is not sitting straight up when screwed down? Or are you saying it doesn’t screw down completely because something is crooked?

If it’s the first one, that’s normal. Rolexes don’t always have coroners on crowns that sits straight up when screwed down.

If it’s the second one, your stem is either bent or tube is cross threaded. Easy fix either way.

The crown is difficult to engage on the tube, and when it does, when fully screwed it looks very slightly off. I think I'm the only one who sees it. The annoying thing is that, it's not my watch, I offered it as a present, and I have to wind it up and set the time myself every time its worn, because it's too difficult. I already broke the stem and parts of the keyless, and t's right now back from the watchmaker - who didn't say anything about the tube, probably because it's not something he does.
I have another problem on this midcase, I think one of the lug holes isn't at the right spot, it's off my maybe half a millimeter but that causes the bracelet to rub against the lug on one side.
Both those issues were invisible on QC pics.
I'm now trying to locate a new case set for that watch...

Oh and yes when I say "it looks slightly off" I'm not talking about the coronet :) I'm talking about how the crown sits against the case.

Yea... sounds like you need a new tube. May as well get a gen crown and tube or get a Swiss quality tube at least. Clark’s and other generic brands kinda sucks. Clark’s has snapped on me twice. It will almost sit flush with one more turn and snapped right off. Now I have a case that I need to drill out and re-thread.

I’m not sure if the OP has gen spec tubes/crowns but you can try unscrewing the tube and try to re-seat it and see if that works but if it were me, I would just pull the tube out and get a better one. Used tubes are very finicky because it’s about as thick as aluminum foil at the weakest point.

You may need to re-tap it since it could be the thread that’s causing it.

You can get a tapping tool on amazon for like $20 bucks (for the 7030 one) but not sure how much that one will cost. Then you need a tube screw tool. You can order one from China for about $15 bucks. It may take a while to get here though.

I would go ahead and start ordering them unless your watchmaker can do it for cheaper.

Good luck.
