Since its launch, the Titanium Yacht-Master 226627 presented itself as the under-the-radar, stealthy yet robust looking watch but I've been hesitating as always like to wear my watches in rubber strap.

Recently a Ti YM (from TWF) came up in the M2M sales thread and decided to try it out.

Meanwhile I currently also have YM White Gold (WG) model 226659 from TED. I really like the Oysterflex rubber strap. Have been wondering how it will fit the YM Ti.

From various readings the spring bar holes positions in the Ti are further away from the case while the WG are closer to case, in fact so close that it requires even a cut-out to the case.

Here's a pic with Ti on the left and WG on the right, showing the difference in positioning of the holes, and the cut-out.

When I fitted the Oysterflex strap from the WG onto the Ti, as expected it fits the width since they are both 21mm. However the gap between case and strap is rather hideous.

The more I look at the brushed titanium case, the more I feel it has some level of resemblance to the brushed steel case of Explorer II. The earlier model (216570) also has 21mm lug width. I rang up my pal to get a set of brushed end links for that Explorer II model.

Hesitating but with passionate curiosity, I slide the end links through the lugs of YM Ti case then fitted the Oysterflex strap from WG.

Voila!

Since the end links are not originally for YM Ti, while the 21mm width fits perfectly, there is some play up and down. I put a thin piece of double sided tape to keep it in place. I used the all-weather type suitable for outdoor use so it can be more resistant to moist from sweat or rain splashes.

Happy with the trial fitment, I then replaced the steel clasp with the titanium clasp that came with the YM Ti bracelet. Just need to retain the Easylink piece to fit the Oysterflex rubber strap.

Now I'm happy with the set up and in good shape for me.

While obviously not the most perfect of everything, it gives me good enough comfort in pairing Oysterflex strap with the stealthy Titanium YM.

Hope you enjoy my sharing and Happy Weekend!

Awesome post! Looks great and you’ve given me some inspiration! Can I ask, did the titanium screws give you any problem? I have heard people have destroyed their screws when trying to size their bracelet.

That looks great. I've never considered the YM, but now I'm intrigued. Good solution with the Exp2 end links!

I've also read about the screw stories that was too tight probably due to the loctite at play and was prepared to use a hair dryer to heat up the screw if it becomes a problem but it was okay for me. I did not however touch the screws on the other links as I wasn't really trying to size the bracelet, but just unscrewing the 2 ends of the titanium clasp :)

Nice Watch! What is your wrist size? I think about YM 42mm but my wrist is only 16.5mm and I think its to small
About 170mm. I use the D/F Oysterflex combination that came with the WG model. While it wears just nice on WG, the titanium YM has lug holes further away from the case so i had to use the inner most point of the 3 micro adjustment points in the clasp, and close the easylink. This is as per picture #5 of my post. With all these tightening, it fits just nice.

If your wrist is 165mm, probably you need D/E combination to get the better fit.

Likewise, the Ti YM has been outside my radar as it wasn't Oysterflex compatible so far.

But now it is :)

Stunning watch! Enjoy it. I believe without end links, it would look even better. Those links muting the elegance imho. (Don't know if it is possible with oysterflex i recall vaguely it works).

Checkout this : https://rubberb.com/rolex-watch-ban...-oysterflex-band-ballistic?selected-color=128
The gap between the case and strap would be much wider than what it looks in the White Gold version due to the spring bar point on the titanium is so much further out. That said, if the gap is not an issue indeed then it could avoid any muted elegance as you said.

Another day learned sth new, appreciated for the insight. This is no go. Since oysterflex is even curvier than the other options, this gap looks even more awkward.
