Long story short, I came into a pile of Gens recently. In this collection is a like new Rolex Submariner 16800. It needs a service ( oascom we shall be talking soon!) but I also noticed the clasp on the bracelet seems to have a problem. No other clasp I've seen hangs like this. What could be the problem and possible fix aside from replacement? Or ... Is this really how this clasp is? I'd post over on TRF but their suggestions are always send to RSC or Rolliworks and for this I'd rather not.

Easy fix. Just try to squeeze back portion of the clasp where you see those two indentation. Thats that holds it together.

I usually use vise with rubber ends to do it. This way I squeeze both sides even.

The hinged part of the divers extension is pressure fit, yours needs adjusting.

Thank you, I do have soft jaws on a vice at home so Ill give it a little snug down. Worst case, when it heads to Oascom, he can do it ;)

Yea, the older clasps seem to disengage a lot easier than the more modern ones. It’s pretty normal but can be fixed as other said.

Good luck
