Rolex Sub

I have a buddy with a late 90's Sub in pretty nice condition. He has been wanting to sell it for awhile now.
He said he would give it to me for $1200 and my IWC GST chrono.

Is this a good deal?
I am thinking of doing it. I can sell off some other watches and make around $500-600.

no IWC not a gen.
That is the thing it does not come with a box OR papers.
It is real though.
I can get a box from my watchsmith, just the papers are the problem.

You should look & see what gen subs are selling for on ebay... ($3-$4k, btw). Hell, I'll give your friend $1200 and buy him 2 new IWC reps.

At $1200, something ain't right.

it is genuine, I have held it a few times.
He is a few years younger than me and doesnt feel right wearing it he says.
He is feeling this years summer sales dip and needs the funds.
