Hi guys, I'm working on two Franken builds and had the chance to do a quick side by side of the 18k ST bezel and 18k WSO bezel.
Weight:
ST 5.6 grams +/-
WSO 5.3 grams +/-
The genuine insert does not snap into the ST bezel, I'm assuming that it would need to be lightly sanded to fit. On the other hand the genuine insert snaps into place with the WSO bezel without any issues. I have 2 of each bezels and its the same for all.
As you can see from the pics that the WSO is a whiter gold than the ST. The band in the pics is the ST 18k/SS band, you can see the difference in gold color side by side. The ST seems to blend right into the gold links of the ST band. IMO the ST bezel is a better match for the 18k/SS ST band and the genuine Rolex crown, than the WSO. The WSO bezel has a more gleaming gold color and doesn't match very well. The ST looks a little dull to me, but maybe a nice polish will help that!
Hopefully this will help make a decision on which bezel to buy and save the headache of return anything, like I have to!
