Hey everyone,

I just picked up a gen dial and handset for a 34mm Oyster Perpetual Date, which I'd like to build up into a watch. I've never put together a rep or franken before and would appreciate any ideas! I've been trying to decide whether to go for a gen case, or one of the Raffles ones which seem great value. Does anyone know, if I were to buy a gen case - is there a movement that will drop straight in? I'm not sure of the model number/case number that this dial was originally fitted to - though I think I've found one that looks similar!

Any input much appreciated... would also love to see pics of similar builds for inspiration! Many thanks

This is the dial and hands

Here is the closest looking watch I could find

Considering buying a gen rolex case... are there any movements that would fit a 34mm oyster perpetual date relatively easily? I don't mind cutting dial feet off. Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a watchsmith that could machine a gen case to fit an eta movement?

Thanks, I had a read around and found quite a bit of information - it seems that a common movement to use is an eta 2824 is a common swap, but I couldn't seem to find anything comclusive on stem height and what movement holder is generally used / required... would be grateful for some pointers where to look.
