Hello all,

I am a new member of RWI, but have been reading the forum threads for about a year. I've learned quite a bit and enjoy seeing everyone's acquisitions and hearing the group's assessments. It has been invaluable in finding a couple of trusted TD's and feeling confident in my purchases to-date. Like many of you, I am hooked. I've acquired (13) reps in the last (6) months and continue to research and contemplate new watches to add to my collection.

I share the above since this is my first post and I know introductions matter here. In that same vane, I want to preface my question with an honest affirmation I have searched the forums for as much information on this topic as I could find so as not to burden the community with questions you all have already been kind enough to address for others. Although I did find a couple of threads addressing the quality of the Rolex Everrose finish on reps, I did not really glean any meaningful or current data for comparison to Gen (e.g. s-by-s photos, etc...). I'd appreciate any knowledge this group can lend with regard to the quality and durability of the plated-RG finish from specific factories, although my focus of late for Rolex leads me to believe Clean, VSF, and some QF are likely too be the highest quality.

For what it is worth my target reps are a 126711 CHNR "Rootbeer"GMT II and/or a 116515 Daytona. As noted I have been leaning towards Clean, but also see QF has been producing some pretty nice "weighted" reps. I also read just today on another forum that VSF has released their own "weighted" version of the Daytona but I have not located one from VSF for the 116515 yet.

While (and if) I have the attention of someone who is equally into the topic at hand, I'd love to hear thoughts on the pros/cons of the DD3285 v, SA4130. My limited knowledge leads me to believe the DD is a superior movement but I dont know why ;)

Hi buddy

I had to squint my eyes to look at your thread message. Getting old. lol

You are right that Clean, QF and VSF are about the best for the series you are looking for.

QF is now well known for their weighted reps & the gold stuff from them are indeed better quality.

I dont think its fair to compare the DD3285 against the SA4130 since one is a non chronograph GMT and the other is a chronograph movement.

But if you ask me, I will always go with a non chrono movement as the downtime rates is a lot lower.
