I have a bunch of broken clasps and clasp parts that I want to assemble into usable clasps.

Does anyone know where I can buy part no. 3 in the above diagram and what tool I’ll need to remove and replace it?

Ok I’ll take care and measure. Thanks for the heads up. Do you know if they can be cut to length?
the box has mixed lengths, so you pick the longer one and just run it on sandpaper or a dremel sand disk to take off what you need.

Safer than cutting as it does not crush the tube.

I also out a breath of loctite to reinforce the pressure fit.

#7 on my GMT is a joke. It’s so flimsy. I’d like to find a better one.

Sorry to hijack, but is Number 6 just a standard bracelet screw? I've picked up a watch that has an issue with that part - the outer third seems to have snapped off leaving two thirds inside the clasp and I wonder if it's screwed into the far end, and therefore quite secure, or if it's some sort of push fit and therefore likely to fall out at some point (causing the watch to fall off my wrist and smash into a million pieces).

Not hijacking at all. Very much on topic.

Number 6 is a screw. It’s not always the same length and thread as the link screws but it can be. Depends on manufacturer.

The parrallel bar (number 5) is a thick spring bar that fits into dimple on each side of the flip lock.

Here’s yet another clasp issue:

the flip lock came off my clasp. It looks like it supposed to be held on by a pin which I believe did not come on the clasp when I got the watch

any ideas what type of pin I need/where to get it? I looked on Ali and Im betting the pin from a clasp sold there would work but what tool do I need? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need a 16mm spring bar. I forget the size…maybe 2mm? Measure the hole diameter before ordering to be sure.

Okay, thanks!

Glad it’s a matter of a spring bar. I’ll look into it

Well, attempting to reinstall this fliplock to the clasp is proving to be a bigger deal than I hoped. I have a 16mm spring bar but can’t seem to unite the flip lock with the clasp. I’ve been using a springbar tool as well as screwdrivers to try to push the spring bar. This is far more difficult for me than changing buckles on straps which appears to be a similar process. I’ll look into the spring bars on Ebay or even a cheap clasp from Ali to extract the spring bar from. This process should be a snap but of course it’s not for me but it should be for many of you jeweler/watchmaker types.

when you order a model with a flip lock clasp, ask the dealer to check the spring bar during QC so you don’t potentially have my problem.
