This is the piece sold by the long-defunct non-TD site TS-Station. If you fancy knowing more (including a thrilling day-by-day account from yours truly about the rollercoaster of ordering and getting this one. Spoiler alert: it isn’t thrilling), there’s a concise thread (at a mere 77 pages) about them here: https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/new-6542-budget-factory-option-by-ts-station.7398459/
I bought it back in 2019. Blimey where’s the time gone… seems like only 5 or so years ago. It had some issues on arrival (as quite a lot did) of messy lume-dusted hands/dial, the second hand was sticking on the minute hand, the bezel was sharp, the insert paint wasn’t great. So I did a bit of minor modding, de-casing the movement/dial and cleaning it all up, and sorting the sticking second hand. I sanded off the factory insert paint and repainted it in more gen-like colours. And I smoothed and brassed the bezel. I hoped that removing/reinstalling the crown might make the time/date setting action a little better but it didn’t - it tends to be a bit hit ‘n’ miss when setting. But it always works with a bit of fiddling back and forth and as I’m a registered ETA movement killer I never pursued trying to improve it.
Anyway, time for it to head off to new keeper and thoroughly nice RWI member @Hec. I have another identical TS-Station model, plus a BP 6542, plus two of the albino Pan-Am variants, so I shan’t be too grief-stricken and hopefully the seller’s regret will pass without me needing too much professional help.
Thanks for reading! And now, some pics.
