Hi.

I have a valjoux 726 from a stingray roamer and a gen set for subdial hands.

I having problem fitting the hand on the minute counter?

The pinion looks like it is to thick to enter the hand.

Does the movement need some modifications to get the hand set to fit? I thought there was just plug and play.

Thanks for answers.

Fitting hands on a valjoux 72 is probably one of the most tricky parts after fixing the movement into the case. Gen hands should actually fit and I never had issues. Either your hands aren't gen or you have a little bad luck (maybe provide a picture and I can tell you whether they are gen or not). However, phong or MQ hands are never or almost never a straight fit and I had a lot of issues with them. The pinion hole is usually too small especially for the large chrono hand and it needs to be widened. As its super duper small you need micro drills (see the picture below). You can usually get them from dentist suppliers as they use it. Otherwise send me a pm and I might have a spare one for you. Yet, it's trial and error and you have to be extremely gentle when you open the pinion a tiny bit. Last but not least, don't try to wiggle around on the movement as the pinions are correct and the v72 is a high quality movement. Hope it helps

Thanks for your answer sputim

I belive they are genuine, bought them from chrono24.

They look like diamond cut and very accurate. Pointy like a sword.

But the correct setting will be.

Longest tube on sec counter
Middle on hour
And shortest on minute?

Damn, that drill was tiny. I hope that I don't have to use one of those.

Thanks. 550 euro.

Ok, thank you. I have to try them on later today.

I have various screws on the way for the movement clamps aswell now. Hope that some will fit the movement.
