In my obsession to build all of these vintage Rolex I got one of these. It has the nicest dial of any vintage model I've seen. The gold hands and funky seconds hand just make it, especially when you brass the bezel. Pics:

2 - 2mm spring bars, vintage pearl, and a T21 plexi. The rest is reshaping, aging, drilling. Lot of work, few parts.

Loving the bronze Rich, how did you manage to get it done?

Really really nice Rich. Were you going for a NOS look and then just wear it to put some real-world bumps and scrapes? I really love the non-over the top age/patina on this piece. It's so easy to go overboard, but then u end up with it looking forced/artificial. You really found the sweet spot. Kudos.

I love the insert color; it's almost purplish blue and lightly worn without being all scratched up to heck!

You use a propane torch. It is all about how long you leave it in the flame. Too short a time and it doesn't change enough, too long and it goes to a much darker color. You can remove it mechanically but it is a pain once you've blackened it to start over.

I don't like bumps and scrapes all that much. It seems like when you start doing this you beat the hell out of the watch because you don't know what else to do, but after you do it a while you get more subtle. I would have aged the dial but it was so nice that I couldn't do it. This is the white one, I aged this dial because it really needed it.

Brick wall beside my garage in eastern NC. Overcast, sorta drizzly rain. (nowhere real fancy  )

Nice, something about those vintage rolies... sporty and classy at the same time.
