I just wanted to write up something that I am running into with my 3035 movement. There is no 3035 on the Movement section so I thought that this would be better in the Rolex section.
I brought a bunch of parts of a 3035 on Ebay. I had the wonderful Misiekped rebuild what I had and he had to order a bunch of parts. But at the end of the day. I have a Rolex 3035.
Now months later I noticed the rotor had come off. So I could send it back to Mike. But I myself am trying to learn how to work on Rolex movements. Well not the 3035 but the 3135. So I wanted to tackle it myself.
The first thing I saw was the rotor off. So thinking it was like a 3135. I took the three screws off and learned very quickly that it is not the same. The reversing wheels flew. LOL. I gathered all the parts and took my time and figured out how it all goes together. I found the clip. It was broken into two small parts.
I called up Mike and he send me a bunch of clips. All different sizes.
So I found it nearly impossible to change the clip. Then I found that the automatic bridge has a frame on the 3035. So I removed the frame. Then put it back together. Not as easy as it sounds. I will show you with pics how it is done.
Real quick I will run through what parts I changed. First thing I did was I replaced the pivot on the oscillating weight. Then I put the clip in and once I would tighten the bridge down the rotor would stop spinning.
Then I replaced the the upper jewel for the oscillating weight. Still the same issue. I then brought a new oscillating weight. thinking there was an issue with it. Still same problem. Only thing that wasn’t Rolex that was in the bridge was the little C clip. So I brought all three sizes of clips. I open the first one and the problem was solved.
I will post the pics of the rebuilding of the 3035 auto winding bridge. That way if anyone else with a 3035 needs help with it, they can look at this and figure it out.
Oh and one more thing. When you put the pivot threw the jewel, the C clip gets attached. After the C clip is attached the small winding gear goes on. I had to PM Mike to ask that question because the clip was broken when I opened it up. I will show pics of the c clip and the winding gear. Any questions shoot me a PM I will answer it.
