Hi guys, first post here even after reading all the rules I might have forgot one or two so make sure to tell me if I missed anything !
Like many of us here the rolex 16233 is my dream watch, the two tone, this fluted bezel... wow
However no factory makes them so my only options are : the long and expensive Franken way ot the cheap but inaccurate raffles build, I choose the latter
So I went to raffles, ordered a dial, date wheel overlay and this gorgeous bezel,
here are the specs of this build :
-Bp 1019 case, factory drilled lugs (had it from a previous build)
-Raffles 36mm gold fluted bezel
-Generic 25.295C, perfect fit for the case and bezel
-Aliexpress set of hands for 2813 (will update to a slimmer set)
-Standard A2813 I had laying around
-Raffles DWO (open 6/9)
-Raffles dial
-Cheap ali jubilee (will update soon)
Then the raffles parts arrived,the dial was honestly awful, white stains on it, discolored inedexes, and bent in the middle, not a good start.
The bend puts pressure on the DWO and makes the date swap unreliable.
The DWO was okayish, even when well aligned the lower parts of the next date would eventually show up on the upped part of the date window... However raffles is really the best when it comes to customer satisfaction, he immediatly refunded me for the dial, 10/10 would recommend.
Anyway I assembled everything to see how it would look in the end, enjoy these pics
my plans for this watch are to swap the movement for a Starking high beat 2813, I found a source and these little gems can fit both 2813 and 2824/2836 dials! it gives me more chance to find a dial for this watch.
