This time I provide you a beautiful Richard Mille genuine & BBR comparison.
I borrowed genuine RM-055 from my friend who has one. As for me, I am very entangled indeed, the RM-055, in terms of the appearance, they are not very much alike. The major differences between them are listed below.
Also the price difference is way too huge between the replica and gen product. The replica is 700 dollars, and the real one is 360,000 dollars.
Their RMUL2 movement had no 1:1 movement before this( Vaucher movement long term foundry can be searched on Instagram). This BBR movement cannot be called as 1:1 replica though, because there are still some differences in it, but it is much better than the previous Miyota 6t51 movement. I hope that the RM replica will be better in the future.
For gen, the case is made of white ceramic, its color is very special, we call it cheese white(in Chinese). This ceramic looks very solid and that makes it more classic. BBR replica is a bit similar to the Chanel j12 watch ↓ which has slightly translucent feeling.
The midcase and bottom cover of the gen are made of titanium alloy wrapped with a layer of rubber (the pictures are down below), so these parts would be oxidized and yellowed, including its rubber strap.
The bezel, middle case and bottom cover from BBR are all made of ceramic materials which is not correct according to gen.
The rubber strap is relatively close, but it can’t be used on the original one. We’ve tested this.
The buckle part is fine. But the engraving details are not well done.
Glass is also not a big problem.
The markers are quite different.
The hands are almost the same.
Most importantly, the movement.
This movement is much better than the previous miyota 6t51, but if you compare with the original movement, you will find many differences, not only the lettering, but also the size of the accessories, the crafting and so on. But the price difference is more than 500 times. So I think it’s acceptable for me. After all, the real RM is really too expensive.
