Singer Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48, her publicist Kristen Foster has said.

The cause and location of the Grammy award-winning star's death are currently unclear.
At her peak in the 1980s and '90s, Houston was the golden girl of the music industry and one of the world's best-selling artists.
Her success carried her beyond music and she starred in movies, including, most famously, The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner.
But in recent times she has struggled with drug addiction and financial problems.
Towards the end of Houston's career her lifestyle took its toll on her once-stunning voice which became raspy and hoarse and she saw sales of her records plummet.
The star was pictured looking dishevelled and worse for wear on Friday night as she attended a pre-Grammy party in Hollywood.
Houston had one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, with her ex-husband Bobby Brown.

So much talent and so too young to die.

I'm very sad right now.

I remember being in Hollywood and was shocked when they found John Belushi at the Chateau Marmont hotel, he was only 33 when he died. News like this is always hard to take. She was 48, way too young to die. But that girl sure could sing and she left us a lot of good music.

RIP

Not hard to believe at all, it was her destiny. She surrounded herself with people that created an environment where a downward spiral was the only course. Shame and curses on those who did nothing about it. If they say they tried their best, they needed to try like someone else...

My condolences BB.
But here is an individual that had the world
and threw it away.
COD has not been released, but it would appear the public has drawn its conclusion.
Again my condolences, but she does not deserve your prayers

Life is a choice..she made hers

The frosting on the cake will be all those who show up at her funeral crying and wailing about how they wish they could have done something- not to mention all those who will try to out do the other telling stories about how they knew her.

I'm in shock!

Such tragedy, my thoughts and prayers to her family. I think most felt she would somehow persevere

Don't make fun of this frig!!!

I'm not BB

It's just painfully obvious. We see it all the time. Who I really feel for is her little girl. She will have a long road to ensure her life resembles nothing like her mothers. Pray to God it doesn't.
