Hello fellow watch friends,
today I am doing my first review on my first replica. I know there are some really good and comprehensive reviews of the VSF PAM441 V2 out there. I am not aiming to compete with them, I just want to provide my own personal view on this awesome watch. For the background: I am not too long into mechanical watches anyways. I started with a Ingersol "The Bloch" end of 2016. This brought me into the hobby and I also bought a Junghans Meister Chronoscope for my graduation, which is a bit more of a higher value gen.
So I am kind of a beginner but with a bit of a reference to a high quality gen as well.
Let's start the review:
The first thing i noticed is the astonishing quality of the case. The ceramic feels really well finished there are no sharp edges or any other production faults i could notice, Also no gaps or anything irregular can be spotted.
The dial looks really nice too no irregularities could be spotted there. It is a sunny day at my home and I did not think about dimming the room. So you can see the glass is a bit reflexive. The hands look well manufactured as well. Could not find any negative point on it. they look crisp and clean.
The numbers look mostly gorgeous really smooth and crispy. With exception to 8, 11 and 1 the feel a bit narrow compared to the numbers just look at the 8 in comparison to 7. I am not sure if it is supposed to be like that because i have never seen a gen 441 and i feel like it is all about the angle you take a look at. At dimm light you barley see 1 and 8. Maybe i failed QC or i am just too picky. I highly appreciate feedback from seasoned panerai fans
The caseback looks really nice too. It states that it is made of titan but i dont know if thats true, do not know the material too well. Movement looks good could not find any point. It is quiet and sounds "healthy" if you take it close too your ear.
The rotor is working only in one direction and is blocked in the other. I have read some complains that the rotor could be somehow loud. I can't confirm mine is really quiet. In comparison my Junghans Meister is loud as hell if you move a bit.
As already stated in the other reviews the functions are like gen. When I first unboxed the watch I justed the official manual for the gen to get it started and set time/timezone. Winding is pretty smooth i just gave it some rounds to get started and wore it for some time and it lasted over the night. The only thing i noticed when i setting the time initially: when you quickset the hour hand the gmt hand stutters a bit. but i think i have seen this phenomena also on a video of the gen and it is not really significant.
I feel like it keeps good time. Can't tell from now. I am that kind of guy who sets the time to the minute not to the second. So for me after one day I can not see any derivation so I am happy. The QC Pics stated that it gains 18 sec a day. So maybe i will notice it next week.
It think it won't stop soon because I will not get this from my wrist in the near future

Here is a nice little wristy for ya folks I feel like it is attracting dust in a magic way But it looks so nice.
And last but not least the most important thing of a Luminor: the lumen. This shot is not "faked" so i did not charge the lumen with my smartphone. It is just that bright in the shadow on a sunny day. Really impressive and it lasts for a good time i'd say.
The strap feels really nice. The outer part touches really nice and soft but overall the band is really stiff and you see the first marks from just wearing it some hours. I am not sure if it will last really long but i already read that rep straps aren't the best so it's no real point. I will wear it until i don't like it any more. The clasp is also ceramic and feels really well made. I hope i can keep it when i swap the strap in the future.
So that is the end of my little review. Feedback is appreciated! Overall i am really happy with my first rep watch. Feel like I am already addicted. To the overall process:
I bought it from Andrew, which is a kind and honorable guy shortly before CNY. He managed to get QC and Tracking before start of CNY. It took then 3 weeks to get to central europe. Maybe it took that long because the logistics did not work in china idk but it was worth the wait. Did arrive well packaged.
