*Review* Black Bay 58 Blue

Hi guys,

thought I’d post up a few words of my honest opinions of the ZF Tudor BB 58 Blue.

After having owned a Gen BB58 and selling it, I wanted one again and thought why not give this a try.

Being my first rep, I’m honestly pretty impressed. The initial feel of the watch was great. The bracelet is probably the main let down, it’s a little clanky but once it’s on the wrist it’s fine. Looks wise the bracelet is pretty spot on.

The watch itself, for me the cons would be the crystal, it’s not as sharp and clear as the Gen, and with this example in particular the lume pip is sitting a little low. But remember it’s a rep, and for the money it’s a solid little watch. Movement feels a lot smoother than expected and the sweep is great. Honestly wouldn’t hesitate to get another.

Anyway here are a few pics, I’ll be throwing this into my heavy daily rotation with my skx for desk diving duties. I’ve got a pic of the Gen for comparison as well. Have a safe and great Easter weekend all!

I forgot to say the dial text is definitely less pronounced and bold as the Gen too. But it’s not a deal breaker in my eyes. Here is a quick shot of the lume too. You’ve probably noticed I’ve got very small wrists ????

Isn't the lume supposed to be blue on the blue model?

Nah that’s a common misconception, B&J posted a vid on YT with the incorrect info now everyone thinks it’s the case. I guess depending on the light it could look blue but they’re both green.

its my understanding that they both glow green, but when in direct black light the blue one reflects blue

Yes. (don't know about the youtube guy but i own the gen so i can confirm it's green...)

The sunken pip is also a common fault of the gen

Is there a play on the bezel? I bought a used pair and it has a quite play when bezel edge is pressed.

You can even turn the GEN bezel backwards a bit. There's no resistance on mine. For me, the Tudor bezel is unsatisfactory. I had to turn my new GEN Tudor hundreds of times to get it buttery soft. 🫠

It has no issue turning the bezel, the problem is with play when the edge is pressed. My SMP doesn't have any play at all.

You mean you can push the bezel down a bit. Yes, my GEN has that too. I hope I got it right now.

Thanks for the review and photos - it's a great rep. I've had 3 now - but never seem to get much wrist time, so I sell them on, but always tempted to get another!
